about
Some experiments go terribly right....
"Six Steps to Random" was improvised and recorded in one take to a stereo track with no additional mixing or overdubs. The name is a nod to the setting used. Son limited his drum machine to a 6 step pattern. Dad had his synth arpegiator turned to random. Everything was just out of sync enough to create something greater than the sum of it's parts.
We almost didn't capture this. We were just messing around with settings (trying to make things sound "bad") and then we heard something unexpected and had to quickly hit the record button.
